    Monday, December 18, 2006, 11:02 PM [General]

Well after a rough go in the last few weeks the Thunder have hopefully righted the ship.  A win against the Mudbugs may have been exactly what the Thunder needed.  The Thunder will take on their next test on Wedensday when they travel to Colorado to take on the Eagles.

Good Luck to the Thunder in Colorado and on Friday in Tulsa

A roster change, a familar face and a new day?

    Friday, November 24, 2006, 10:09 PM [General]

The Thunder have been on a slide but have looked adversity in the face and have tried their best to shore its self up over a tough strech.  Sebastian Laplante is back in his starting goal position for the Thunder and started friday against Memphis.  Unfortunatly that means that the Thunder had to cut a goalie.  Dan Giffen a Rookie goalie in his first year in the CHL had won the hearts of fans but had recently had some very rough games.  Andrew Martin who joined the team when Sebass was hurt, showed some promise but also had a tough time in one of his games.  Who do you keep?

The decision had to be made and had to be made quick.  And so the Thunder kept Martin and wished Giffen well on his future career. So with a new change to the roster and a familiar face back in the net the Thunder limped into Memphis to take on the Red Hot RiverKings.  Laplante looked like he had never missed a game and put up a very solid performance leading the Thunder to a 3-1 victory over the Kings.  The only goal allowed by Laplante in the game came on a penalty shot late in the second period.  Tomorrow the Thunder will take their will to win to the Century Tel Center where they will face the Mud Bugs.

Good luck guys and Happy Thanksgiving to the entire CHL family and its Fans.

A Ruff weekend for the Thunder

    Tuesday, November 14, 2006, 01:16 AM [General]

Well it was deffinatly a rough weekend for the Thunder.  The Thunder played against the Memephis River Kings who have started the season off on fire and didnt show signs of cooling off in that game.  The RiverKings scored four first period goals on their way to a 5-2 victory over the Thunder.

The only glimmer of good in the weekend was on Friday, when we beat the Blazers in the Ford Center.  But it was over shadowed by the fact that starting goaltender Sebastian Laplante was hit by a puck that went through his mask and ended up sending him to the hospital.  The Thunder won their second of the year against the Blazers 3-2.

The following night the Thunder traveled back to Wichita to play the Tulsa Oilers on Sat.  It looked as though tree games in that short a time period was just to much.  as Tulsa scored 2 quick goals.  The Thunder came back to score 3 unanswered and looked to have taken the momentium back.  But the Oilers would not quit and went on to score 3 more goals plus an empty netter at the end.

The Thunder travel to Colorado to take on the Rocky Mountain Rage on Tuesday

Good Luck in Colorado and Get well soon to Seabass, Tetsy, and Hawk
